This paper reviews the opportunities and challenges of developing health tourism in the Riau Islands by highlighting medical and wellness tourism elements. Opportunities include geographical advantages, cultural heritage of traditional medicine, and economic potential from increased health tourist arrivals. However, Riau Islands also faces various challenges, such as the need for international standard health facilities, regulations that support investment, global promotion, and environmental sustainability issues. Collaboration between the central and local governments, industry players, and the community is needed to optimise this potential. With the right strategy, the Riau Islands has the opportunity to become a leading health tourism destination in the Asian region.
2025-05-27T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 JURNAL ILMU DAN TEKNOLOGI KESEHATAN TERPADUhttps://ejurnal.poltekkes-tanjungpinang.ac.id/index.php/jkstl/article/view/242Determinan Kejadian Infeksi Saluran Pernapasan Akut pada Balita di Provinsi Jambi (Analisis Data SKI tahun 2023)2025-04-03T08:47:28+00:00Santha Remicha Br Sembiring Sembiringsantharemicha13@gmail.comHendra Dhermawan Sitangganghendrasitanggang@unja.ac.idMuhammad Syukrisyukri.muhammad87@gmail.comMarta Butar Butarmartabutarbutar@unja.ac.idAdelina Fitriadelinafitri@unja.ac.id
ARI is an acute infection found in the upper respiratory tract, which includes the nose, sinuses, and throat, and the lower respiratory tract, which includes the bronchi and lungs. Bacteria, viruses, and fungi can cause it. This study used a cross-sectional design with an analytic approach and used secondary data from the SKI in 2023. Analysis was carried out univariate, bivariate, and multivariate. The prevalence of ARI among children under five was 11,95%. Factors associated with the incidence of ARI among children under five in Jambi Province were smoking (p-value = 0,000, PR= 1,89 95% CI: 1,38 – 2,58). Factors not associated with ARI were age, sex, birth weight, immunization status, nutritional status, floor type cooking fuel, maternal education, mother's occupation, and economic status. The dominant factor with ARI incidence was immunization status after controlling for the variables of nutritional status, maternal occupation and the presence of smokers. Therefore, more effective prevention efforts are needed, such as educating parents about the importance of adequate basic immunization and implementing a no-smoking policy in the residential environment.
2025-06-23T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 JURNAL ILMU DAN TEKNOLOGI KESEHATAN TERPADUhttps://ejurnal.poltekkes-tanjungpinang.ac.id/index.php/jkstl/article/view/216Rumah Sehat dan Kejadian Diare: Studi di Daerah Pesisir2024-12-31T07:47:18+00:00Mutia Diansafitrimutiadiansafitri@gmail.comRisman Kurniamutiadiansafitri@gmail.comKholilah Samosirmutiadiansafitri@gmail.com
The role of a healthy home and the environment has a significant influence on individual health. Tanjungpinang City is an archipelago area where most of the population lives on the coast. The component of healthy house sanitation is strongly related to the incidence of diarrheal diseases. In 2023, the incidence of diarrhea in Tanjungpinang City was 2273 cases. This research was carried out in an observational, descriptive, and analytical manner, with a cross-sectional research design; the sample in this study consisted of 100 houses of residents living in the coastal area of Tanjungpinang City. The analysis of this study was in the form of a Chi-Square analysis, namely the relationship between the components of healthy home sanitation (clean water facilities, healthy latrine facilities, wastewater disposal facilities, waste management facilities, food and beverage management, and the application of hand washing with soap) and the incidence of diarrhea. This study showed that the management of food and beverages was related to the incidence of diarrhea, and the application of hand washing with soap was related to the incidence of diarrhea. This study concludes that there was a relationship between food and beverage management, the application of hand washing with soap, and the incidence of diarrhea. This research is expected to play an important role and be urgent in developing information and usefulness in solving the problem of healthy homes and control of diarrheal diseases in the coastal areas of Tanjungpinang City, Riau Islands Province.
2025-05-27T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 JURNAL ILMU DAN TEKNOLOGI KESEHATAN TERPADUhttps://ejurnal.poltekkes-tanjungpinang.ac.id/index.php/jkstl/article/view/257Distribusi Spasial Kasus Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) di Kabupaten Dharmasraya berdasarkan Karakteristik Wilayah2025-06-01T16:30:28+00:00Nikmatul Hayatinikmatulhayati79@gmail.comMasrizal Masrizalmasrizal.dtmangguang@gmail.comYessy Markolindayessimarkolinda@ph.unand.ac.id
Dharmasraya Regency recorded the second highest Case Fatality Rate (CFR) of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in West Sumatra in 2024, alongside an Incidence Rate (IR) more than three times greater than the previous year with cases clustered in specific subdistricts. This study aimed to map the spatial distribution of DHF cases according to regional characteristics to inform targeted, area-based control policies. A quantitative descriptive design was employed using secondary data from 11 subdistricts, analyzed through univariate and spatial methods. Findings revealed that the DHF cases were highly concentrated in Sitiung, Pulau Punjung, and Koto Baru. Spatial analysis showed higher case counts in areas with higher population density, higher migration, more health facilities, and larger settlement areas. Consequently, dengue control efforts should prioritize these high-risk areas by strengthening surveillance, community education, health service capacity, integration of migration data into early warning systems, and cross-sectoral collaboration on settlement management and risk-based spatial planning.
2025-05-31T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 JURNAL ILMU DAN TEKNOLOGI KESEHATAN TERPADUhttps://ejurnal.poltekkes-tanjungpinang.ac.id/index.php/jkstl/article/view/221Efektivitas Video Pengobatan TB Paru dalam Meningkatkan Pengetahuan Pendamping Minum Obat (PMO) dan Kepatuhan Pasien Minum Obat 2024-12-30T08:17:40+00:00Meisa Daniatins.meisa1005@gmail.comRomalina Romalinans.meisa1005@gmail.com
Tuberculosis treatment takes 6-8 months to heal and complete treatment. Long-term treatment requires interaction from patients, such as compliance. Lack of communication and interaction between health workers and patients during the treatment process can lead to failure of compliance. Technology is needed to improve compliance with TB treatment; this has benefits for public health, such as reducing the rate of disease recurrence, drug resistance, and transmission of infection. Based on this, video education is needed to improve family knowledge and patient compliance in TB treatment. The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of TB treatment videos in improving the knowledge of PMO (Medication Companions) and compliance of pulmonary TB patients taking medication. The research method used was quasi-experimental (pre and post-test). The sample in this study were PMO and TB patients in Tanjungpinang City as many as 62 respondents. The instruments used were videos and questionnaires to measure PMO knowledge and patient compliance in taking medication. The results were an increase in the average knowledge in the intervention group compared to the control group and an increase in compliance from before being given therapy in both the control and intervention groups. TB treatment videos are effective in terms of knowledge of Treatment Companions (PMO) (p=0.000) and compliance of pulmonary TB patients in taking medication (p=0.002). TB treatment videos are expected to be used as PMO media to provide information to pulmonary TB patients.
2025-05-31T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 JURNAL ILMU DAN TEKNOLOGI KESEHATAN TERPADUhttps://ejurnal.poltekkes-tanjungpinang.ac.id/index.php/jkstl/article/view/259Determinasi Lingkungan dan Perilaku terhadap Keberadaan Jentik Aedes spp2025-06-10T07:26:28+00:00Indra Chahayaindra4@usu.ac.idWinni R.E. This study aims to examine the relationship between environmental conditions and human behavior related to the presence of Aedes spp larvae. A quantitative research method with an analytical approach and a cross-sectional design was used. The sample consisted of 150 households in the Baru Ladang Bambu Subdistrict, Medan Tuntungan District, Medan City. The results indicate that the habit of hanging clothes is significantly associated with the presence of Aedes larvae (p-value = 0.010). Other variables such as house type, occupancy density, ventilation, wire screens, opening ventilation, clutter, closing and draining landfills, burying used items, using abate powder, keeping larva-eating fish, and receiving fogging showed no significant relationship. In conclusion, the main risk factor identified is the indoor practice of hanging clothes. Based on these findings, it is recommended that mosquito control programs be enhanced through educational efforts, focusing on changing community behavior particularly discouraging the habit of hanging clothes indoors—as a preventive measure to reduce the presence of Aedes spp larvae.
2025-05-31T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 JURNAL ILMU DAN TEKNOLOGI KESEHATAN TERPADU
